What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the ancient art of inserting thin sterile needles into specific  locations on the body to bring about change in the state of the being.

Acupuncture works by stimulating the movement of Qi from an area of excess or stagnation, or by bringing more Qi to an area of deficiency.

“Qi” is what the Chinese call vital energy or life force. Without Qi there is no longer life. Qi needs to move freely and smoothly throughout the body to maintain homeostasis of the individual.

The source of Qi is obtained three ways in the body; by the food we eat, the air we breathe and the constitutional strength given to us at conception by our parents, which should be used like a savings account to promote graceful aging, hence don’t burn the candle at both ends..

Acupuncture works with the movement of Qi to bring “harmonious balance” to the individual.
